The inaugural edition of the University of Alberta Beef and Range Report was distributed on August 13, 2014, to stakeholders gathered at the Roy Berg Kinsella Research Ranch to celebrate the official renaming of the ranch in honour of Dr. Roy Berg.
This report was modeled after the famous University of Alberta Feeders’ Day Report, which served as a key tool for animal and range scientists to communicate their research results to industry professionals for more than 70 years (from 1921 until 1992).
The 2014 Beef and Range Report, jointly prepared by the Rangeland Research Institute and Livestock Gentec, includes a series of short articles about University of Alberta projects that address various facets of beef production and rangeland management or stewardship. Since that time, more short summaries of research projects are available for download on our Research page.
